Why choose us?
Qualifications: I have a Master’s degree in Animal Behaviour and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I keep up to date with scientific advances in our understanding of dog behaviour through published research and webinars. Recent CPD courses include persistent pseudopregnancies in dogs, aggression between dogs in the same household and pain and behaviour.
Experience: After my Master’s degree, I set up and ran a BSc in Applied Animal Behaviour (dogs, cats and horses), teaching the next generation of Clinical Animal Behaviourists (CABs). This course met the knowledge requirements for certification as a CAB. I set up a referral clinic so that students could also get practical experience of behaviour consultations, so I have been consulting for 18 years. I have also worked extensively with survivors of human trafficking and child sexual exploitation, which led to me combining my experience in both fields and I now specialise in animals impacted by trauma. I have written a book on psychological trauma in dogs and have just signed a publishing deal! Because of this specialism, I take referrals from vets, rescue organisations and other behaviourists for complex cases, primarily aggression, rescues from abroad, dogs from the dog meat trade and dogs from puppy farms. I’m very happy to help with any case, especially if your dog is showing aggression or anxiety.
Teaching: I lectured in companion animal and equine behaviour on the degree I managed, but also on the Veterinary Nursing, Equine Science and Animal Management degrees, teaching topics such as behavioural pharmacology, clinical practice, communication, learning, training and ethology. I supervised all the behaviour-related dissertations and took part in various research projects in collaboration with other universities. I have a variety of webinars available on developmental trauma and attachment in dogs and I continue to do guest lectures and webinars for organisations such as the Fellowship of Animal Behaviour Clinicians and the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors. I spoke at the ‘Trauma in Animals’ conference in 2022 and 2023 and tickets for this year’s conference can be purchased here.

Services
6 Month Package
£350 (save £600!)
Resolving behaviour problems is hard work, and I want to support you intensively throughout the process to ensure that you feel confident delivering the treatment plan. This package includes:
Two-part assessment: Initial video call to take the history and a home visit (mileage fees apply if over 30 miles). You may be asked to complete further assessment tools between these two appointments.
Support plan: The treatment plan will be discussed with you during the home visit and you will receive a written report.
Follow-up support: Ten fortnightly support sessions (one video call and one home visit per month).
Some behaviour problems take time to resolve, particularly if they have been ongoing for a long time. I will recommend a package, based on your individual circumstances, during our free discovery call but you can choose whichever package you wish. The 6 month package can be renewed for a further 6 months, if needed, or you can upgrade to the lifetime support. If you are committed to helping your dog feel better, and therefore behave better, please get in touch!
All-Inclusive Package
£500 (save, on average, over £1,500!)
I work with some of the most complex and traumatised dogs in the UK and these dogs (and their humans!) need long-term support. It is very important to me that we can work together for as long as you wish, without putting a financial burden on you. I’m passionate about helping these dogs lead a full and happy life! This package includes:
Two-part assessment: Initial video call to take the history and a home visit (mileage fees apply if over 30 miles). You will be asked to complete various assessment tools in between these appointments.
4 x Needs Analysis sessions: These are unique to my work in developmental trauma and help us plan our interventions at the appropriate time. The first session (safety) takes place during assessment and the other three as your dog progresses.
Support Plan: The treatment plan will be discussed during the home visit (or second video call if you are not local) and you will receive a written report. We will also have a shared support plan against which we will evaluate progress.
Follow-up support: We will do regular support sessions, initially fortnightly but at least monthly, depending on your dog’s needs. These will be a combination of video calls and home visits.
